Seriously you guys, please please please get on out there to Newport Beach and check out Sessions West Coast Deli. It’s AMAZE!
I’ve been SO fed up with the typical sandwich shops out there these days (I’m not gonna name any names, but you can take a guess) You get flattened out bread with who knows what in it, HA! Barely any meat, and I feel like you have to practically beg them for any veggies on your sandwich. It was so refreshing to discover Sessions and see that you can get a dang good sandwich overflowing with meat and veggies, and delicious breads and not pay a fortune. In fact, you won’t be paying much more then the sandwich shop mentioned above
Sessions, being less then a year old was founded by Matt Meddock, a husband, father and paramedic. Matt, while on his downtime of being a paramedic would often dream of opening a sandwich shop- “west coast style”, he’d dream of how he could put a 2014 spin on food, he’d dream up sandwiches and the perfect ingredients that would go together, names of sandwiches and so on…
Well, he put that dream into a delicious reality and the rest is history!
I mean. Really? Look at that sandwich. It tastes as amazing as it looks- no joke. And, you can totally share because these things are HUGEmongous (I know I know, it’s not a word but in my opinion it describes the sandwich perfectly.)
Sessions serves sandwiches such as the one pictured above which is the“Greatfella” with smoked ham, capicola, genoa salami, provolone, chow chow, razor onion, cherry pepper, shredded lettuce with an herb vinaigrette on a toasted ciabatta.
Their #1 seller just happens to be named after the owner- “The Meddock Melee”: roast turkey, swiss, guacamole, razor onion, tomato, cherry pepper, sprouts with adobo buttermilk dressing on a toasted squaw roll.
And their second top seller is named after his wife, Summer! “The Summer Zephyr” is a vegetarian sandwich: fresh mozzarella, marinated tomato, basil aioli, baby arugula and pickled onion on a toasted french roll.
Don’t those sound GOOD??!!?? Of course Sessions has much, much more to choose from including salads, gourmet hot dogs and they even serve breakfast. They have specials:

This is a perfect place to stop after a long day at the beach, which is what we did. My kids absolutely loved it!
Sessions also does catering and to-go orders, so call in ahead of time and take your food down to the beach for a picnic!
