Peanut Butter Cookies

This is your classic peanut butter cookie recipe. This is always a popular one. Hope you enjoy!

Here’s what you need:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Here’s what you do:
Beat the butter until creamy. Add the sugars, beat. Mix in the peanut butter and egg. Mix together the dry ingredients – flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir the dry ingredients into the sugar butter mixture.

Preheat oven to 375°F. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll the balls in a little extra sugar (optional) Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with a fork. Bake until light brown, 9 to 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for a minute; transfer to rack to cool completely.

I’ve seen where you can add a chocolate heart to the cookie (when it comes out of the oven, while the cookie is still warm press the chocolate heart onto the middle of the cookie) This goes for chocolate kisses as well. Or, you can just enjoy them plain like I did!
Hope you have a very happy Valentines Day! xoxo
